Service Description

PRENATAL YOGA AND ACTIVE BIRTH TRAINING (a safe practice from 14 – 42weeks) Relax and be assured that coming to a pregnancy yoga session is a wonderful exercise for you and your baby. You will be guided by me through a safe and gentle practise to help you relax, strengthen your body and tune in to the consciousness of your growing baby. Through a continuous and regular practise, I will take you through postures and breathing techniques that will allow you to strengthen your body and mind. These techniques will assist you in preparing and managing your labour and birth in the way that you visualise it. Our time spent together will allow you to stay calm and focused and listen to the needs of your body and your growing baby. Pregnancy yoga is a beautiful way to meet other mums in an open and supportive environment. Previous yoga experience is not required. For most women this could be your first try at yoga. A few benefits of Pregnancy yoga You will be able to move freely making you feel strong and flexible. Yoga will help you stretch and give relief to certain pregnancy related pains, aches & discomforts Breathing will assist you calm your mind to help relieve stress and anxiety You will be able to tune in to make a deeper connection with your little miracle inside you It is a safe form of exercise for you and bub. You will learn through the practise of yoga, poses and breathing techniques beneficial during active labour. Whether you choose to birth naturally or not your body will still be strong to cope with the after birth pain and make the healing process better Stay in tune with your body, baby and birthing needs Most importantly Mumma you will have this time for you and your body to breathe, relax, and spend quiet time with yourself (Please note yoga can be practised in the first trimester if you aren’t suffering from discomforts that arise in this time. It is best advised to allow your body to take in all these changes and wonders with the least hinderance or pressure i.e Mumma you need to rest and listen and be kind to your body and the light growing inside you) What to bring: Towel Water Mat if you have one Anything else that you find comforts you. (socks, eye pillow, own blanket) The studio is equipped with bolsters, pillows, blankets, blocks & chairs to make the practise comfortable for you.
